Machine Learning and Data Science The ECE Department is developing a new Machine Learning & Data Science graduate focus area. Designed for graduate students with diverse undergraduate degrees, the program will span the spectrum from fundamental theory to practical applications. The Data Science & Engineering (DSE) program is a Master of Advanced Study degree program borne out of joint venture between the Jacobs School of Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) department and the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC).

I have been doing my masters in data science at UCSD and personally I am enjoying it. It's cheaper than UC Berkeley and the entire course is in Python (hence it is consistent through out) and the courses offered seem reasonably marketable (based on my research of job descriptions). Here is the curriculum (not an expert so please let me know your opinions) : http://jacobsschool.ucsd.edu/mas/dse/curric.sfe
I have a few friends telling me that it's worth doing a bootcamp compared to a masters program in data science as it's much cheaper and the time period is shorter (12 weeks vs 2 years). My reasoning is that, spending 2 years instead of 12 weeks provide more time to practice and absorb material in a structured environment. I hate included my objectives below so please let me know what you think :)
Objectives:
- Job prospects
- Starting salary
- Long term growth
